here comes the riot van

I need to say something, It has come to my attention that I am in serious need of more outfit posts. I am so sorry about this. My intention for this blog was indeed to put together outfits that inspired me however I have come to realise that it is absolutely essential, and I mean ESSENTIAL- to know a good photographer. Now, when I say 'photographer' I really don't mean professionally, I mean faintly talented in the areas of pointing a camera and capturing something artistically. This is not to say that it wouldn't help intensely if I were more photogenic, but I really wish my boyfriend wouldn't make me laugh.

You see, as bloggers who post outfit shots, you really need someone who is a little snap-happy, is not afraid about what people think in public, and has an artistic eye!

Ahhh. Anyway, I finally found an outfit for my birthday. So So So excitement. Oh and... there's purple in my hair...

also, I have decided that I will now carry my camera with me wherever I go. Sure, it may get a little difficult. Sure I may curse this exact decision one day when I'm carrying a million things and a relatively large finepix camera. But whatever, I'll deal. I see too many cool and beautiful things throughout my day not to take photo's of!

  1. Hey, love your hair! A trick to being comfortable in front of the camera - I take all my pics when no one else is around, and I set the camera on a tripod and use the timer! It makes it so much easier. I usually take like 10 at a time without looking, then go back and see what I need to NOT do or what looks good. I think it really helps being alone, so you dont have to worry about feeling stupid or too pose-y! Cant wait to see more outfit posts!

  2. I have the exact same problem, Maria. I would even go a step further and say that it would be a huge boon to live with such a photographer, like blogger Rumi of fashiontoast and her photog boyfriend Colin. I've tried the whole tripod thing, but it just doesn't work as well as having someone behind the camera the whole time. I've asked my mom to do it, but she keeps telling me to smile like she's taking my school picture or something. I'm having lunch with a photographer friend of mine this week; who knows, maybe he'll be interested in the blog project. Mahahaha.

Of course, my lost camera cord doesn't help things either. Nerts.

I also love taking photos of things, but with my Canon Rebel (that I LOVE btw), it just doesn't seem feasible to tote it around all the time. I've seriously considered buying another, cheaper, tinier camera just for my purse. Too much?

Blurgh. Blogging obstacles! I still love reading your blog, and I look forward to seeing more of your everyday sights!

Outfit posts are amazing and people love it... including me. It's always good to see more of that. Especially when a girl can pull it off!
